FACTOR - Artist Development Program Grant Application (2019)

In the fall of 2019, NovaCurrent Public Relations began working with Canadian pop artist Kyle Richardson. Our first project was an application to the FACTOR Artist Development program.

We worked with Kyle on all aspects of the application – including building supplementary materials, and developing his artist development strategy.

Kyle Richardson was approved for funding in the FACTOR Artist Development program in the early 2020. The funding was used in part towards his website development as well as the acoustic video, digital marketing, and publicity campaign for his 2019 single, “Christmas Time This Year”.

Personal Branding Initiatives (2019)

We continued our work with Kyle through the winter of 2019 with a website to launch in conjunction with his planned single, “Christmas Time This Year”.

Kyle’s new website was completed in the winter of 2019. We later resumed our personal branding project with Kyle to complete a personal branding summary and social media guide to accompany his planned album release promotions.

``CHRISTMAS TIME THIS YEAR`` Single Release Publicity Campaign (2019)

Our next project with Kyle was a publicity campaign for his 2019 holiday single release, “Christmas Time This Year”. Our project goals included gaining support from local media via Kyle’s Vancouver and Okanagan roots, while casting a net to reach media elsewhere who support original holiday pop music.

The music publicity campaign for “Christmas Time This Year” gained more than 25 press placements. Coverage included local features from The Permanent Rain Press, Gonzo Okanagan, and The Vernon Morning Star, song reviews from LA on Lock and Fierce Fabulous Revolution, as well as an acoustic video premiere from Tinnitist.

The music publicity campaign for “Can You Hear Me” gained more than 25 press placements. Coverage included a premiere from Canadian Beats, a music video premiere from Tinnitist, a curated playlist feature from Aesthetic Magazine, and interviews with Buzz Music, VENTS Magazine, New Scene Magazine, Fierce and Fabulous Revolution, and Twisted Male Magazine. Our second project with Kyle in 2023 was the publicity campaign for his summer single, “Anything”. For this campaign, we again sought out Canadian and international coverage, but also wanted to emphasize select LBTQIA+ outlets and allies to reinforce Kyle’s place as an artist in the community.
